"Over the last 22 years customers frequently ask about small space fountains. Many folks want a nice looking, fountain but just don't have the room. Here is a small and artsy, tabletop fountain I came up with... the Mini Face Fountain. I found a really cool looking ceramic jug and coupled it with a small, round shaped bowl. It's 5" wide and 5" tall and will fit about anywhere.
It's very simple, nothing fancy... but sounds fantastic. It's amazing 45 gallons of water an hour bubbles out of the little face jug! My customers seem to like this small fountain... our studio cat does too. No problem though... cause this fountain has never tipped over, even when she drinks out of it. It sits low and is built like a little tank... the glaze is lead free so it's pretty safe around small pets." says clay artisan Tim Christian Miller. It is shown in Earth glaze and makes a nice desktop fountain. $67.00 Click here to order now.
Here's a close up of the jug pouring
Water gently pours out of a tiny, African style jug onto polished, Lucky Stones. This tabletop fountain fits snugly into most small space areas. This is what I call a "pint size" water fountain because of the amount of water it holds.
This water fountain is small but creates gentle, soothing sounds. The hidden pump can easily be adjusted to control water flow. Ships complete with fountain bowl, face jug, tubing, lucky river stones and pump. If you have limited space, but want a soothing sounding fountain... the Mini Face Tabletop Fountain is for you!

The fountain after the first firing (called bisque)...
After all ceramic pieces are removed from the plaster molds... the fountain bowl and jug (green-ware) is allowed to dry for 2-3 days, depending on the humidity.
Next... the dried parts are cleaned, sanded and sponged smooth. It is now carefully loaded into the oven. At this stage it is called "green ware" and is extremely brittle. (One slight mistake and this fountain could shatter into a million pieces...)
This small space fountain goes through two separate firings. The first firing is over 1800 degrees and produces what is called "bisque". The photo to the left reveals the Mini Face Water Fountain being removed from the ceramic kiln (oven) the first time.
Loading fountain in over after 3 coatings of glaze
The bisque fountain parts are sanded. 3 separate coats of glaze are applied to the fountain bowl and jug. One slip of the hand during glazing and this fountain can be ruined. After the glaze is dry... it's loaded back into the kiln and cooked again at around 1700 degrees. It is cooled down for 24 hours before being removed from oven.
This time consuming process guarantees you a super durable, superior crafted fountain. With tender, loving care this table top water fountain can last a lifetime!
Here's a sneak peep at some of the Mini Face Tabletop Fountains after the kiln lid is opened. Every fountain fires slightly different... making each one special and unique. We are careful not to open the oven to quick and cause the ceramics to crack.
"This is the most amazing part of making ceramics. Opening the kiln after the final cool down and seeing all your hard work. I'm always amazed to see the final product... just like a kid in a candy factory. This is a very fragile process from start to finish... kinda like life." comments Tim.

One of our large ceramic kilns (oven)
It's amazing that this ugly looking monster can produce such beautiful ceramics. The oven is lined with fireproof bricks and bakes the ceramics to over 1800 degrees! This kiln was even made in Georgia (Yee High...) and is 22 years old.
